We love Gangbuk (the northern side of the Han River) because many of Seoul’s cultural and historical sites are located here. Our favorite place to stay is around Gyeongbokgung / Gwanghwamun Station, as Seochon is our absolute favorite area to wander, with many cafés and museums nearby. In general, the wider Jongno area—with locations such as Jongno-3ga, City Hall, Myeongdong, and Euljiro—is an excellent place to stay thanks to its central location and strong public transportation connections.
Robbert’s absolute favorites are soup-based dishes. Some of his go-to spots include Tosokchon Samgyetang (토속촌 삼계탕), Imun Seolleongtang (이문설렁탕), Hadongkwan Myeongdong Main Branch (하동관 명동본점), and Myeongdong Kyoja (명동교자).
Recently, June has been loving the pork BBQs at Sancheong Sutbul Garden (산청숯불가든) in Euljiro and Kim Jin Mok Sam (김진목삼). She says it’s impossible to pick a single favorite food—she has too many! For her top picks, it’s best to ask her personally.
Robbert's favorite city is Jeonju (June's hometown) and June's favorite city is Jeju island.
